Stopped here while waiting for our load to be ready. There was hardly any cars in the lot or trucks. It is connected to the store. The servers were great, answered any question I had and made sure everything was good throughout our dinner. The food was delicious and pricing was good. Its was for sure a diamond in the rough and there is a good bit of renovating going on. They have an air conditioned portable for restrooms that you go through the store and outside to get to.

Food 4* Service 4* I ordered 2 tacos, beans, rice & chips with salsa Weird it isn't offered as a combo on the menu so it was a la carte The tacos were great! I tried the steak and beef. They were very flavorful! Chips were ok the salsa was too spicy for me.. (not the restaurant's fault) The beans and rice were ok but tasted like they were just made, not out of a can, which was refreshing Would try something else on their menu if in the area again. They have quite a selection. Note: The day I visited the floor was being mopped so it was hard to enjoy my food when it smelled heavily of pinesol The lighting inside is weird.. it was kind of dark *Also, I forgot to add that they have a ginormous parking lot, so if you don't want to park at the truck stop across the highway, you can park here at no cost.

Neat little 50s dinner...Got the breakfast..I was a little disappointed with such a small serving of hashbrowns...It was more like kiddie-size...eggs and bacon were ok, but the bread literally had like no butter on it...It was like dry toast...By the time I had gotten some butter, the toast was cold and the butter wouldn't spread...I had a bad server...He never came back with my hot sauce...I food really wasn't hot when I got it so it was sitting a while before I got it...I'd like to think he was a little busy but I think it was just inexperience or maybe he's not cut out to be a server...He never came back to me till I was about finished...overall OK..I'd probably still come back and hope for a better server...Still better than Denny's.

Don't be fooled by the ourside... the place looks worn and could use a good cleaning. However we gave woodys a try as we try to support local places when traveling. The special was $5.99 half chicken dinners which included chicken a side and soup of salad. Let's just say it hit the bill. This chicken was cooked well the mashed potatoes were tasty but the real gem was the chickens don rice soup. Very tasty indeed. Service was prompt and the food came out hot. A no frills experience with tasty bites. So ignore the need for a paint job and come in for the food!

#18/2022 Interstate 74 Illinois between the college town and Champaign and the college town of Bloomington right smack in the middle of the state sits the farm town of Leroy Illinois. A small hard-working Blue collar town like many small farm towns in Illinois has a couple of fast food restaurants few chains and lots of mom and pop flavor. Woody's here has been for quite a few years. Think early 80s late 70s They've gone through different changes through the years here at the Old Shell truck stop. They call it a 50s diner it's got kind of neat little 50s vibe to it off and on but not really authentic fifties but then nostalgia is there it's very neat. They have a nice good size menu of choices mostly all American style food there are some Italian choices and Mexican but for the most part it's just standard Roadhouse kind of food. About a year ago they got a booze license so you can get yourself a cold one or a cocktail they do not stay open like a bar though they have hours currently of about 5: 00a to 9P. I came in here after having a decent sleep and decide to have some breakfast so I ordered up a standard old egg breakfast. Two eggs over medium hash browns sausage links sourdough toast and coffee. Waitress was quite cordial nice woman working hard though because like many places during these times no shows and having to put a little more in than what you want but it comes with the territory. They were not too busy when I was there but in the morning hours they are slammed and during the dinner hours too because it's a local staple. The food came out the eggs were fine sourdough toast was good the sausage links nice Brown yummy. The hash browns fried on the grill really nice they just weren't totally shredded they were kind of more a combination of sliced shredded but they were yummy. The bathroom is shared with the truck stop they don't have a separate bathroom in here they never did ya just walk out the door into truck stop and the can is right there. Good price just under 11 bucks for everything that bad although some people are yipping and yapping because they put a 3.5% on credit cards not by their choice but it's what the merchant charges them. This happens in a lot of places. Although I'll let you in on a little secret sometimes they'll just raise the price on the menu and say we raised it a couple of bucks and not say the reason as to why and then just absorb the credit card cost that way pretty slick huh? But here there's a sign up letting you know when you use your credit card it'll be 3.5%, so therefore on a 14-dollar bill you're looking at $0.49 oh my God people bitching moaning it's insane but that's just the way it goes if you don't like it don't use a card go to the ATM and pay cash LOL. Frankly I think it's because they don't really do the math in their head and figure out how much it really is in addition. All in all I'm giving it four stars I would be a three and a half star but they're doing a good job and I'll give them the full up not down.
